I import goods into Luxembourg and have three different customs representatives. What should I do?
You must ask each representative whether they offer a CBAM service. If all three of them provide this service, they will each have access to the registry and will submit a declaration on your behalf based on the imports they handled individually. If one or more representatives do not offer the service, the responsibility falls back on you. You may choose to submit only one of the declarations or all of them yourself. In the latter case, you will need to complete a single report containing information from the three imported consignments. You also have the option to appoint a third party that offers CBAM services. This party may handle one, two, or all three declarations according to your needs and in coordination with your indirect customs representatives.
What is a third party? How can I find one?
A third party is a company other than the importer and the indirect customs representative who carried out the customs clearance. This company offers CBAM services that is, it fulfils the CBAM obligation in the registry on your behalf in exchange for a fee. An online search will provide listings of companies offering such services. At present, we are unable to provide a list of companies offering CBAM services for competition-related reasons.
